Background and Business Description

Oasis Coffins has set up its production unit in Nilpharmari district, north of Dhaka in Bangladesh.  With the help of Oasis Bamboo Coffins, this area is being transformed into a community where men and women, now have the opportunity of a sustainable future.

The manufacture of their coffins is having an impact on every area of these people’s lives.  They are bringing change to these communities and are providing employment, and allowing parents to educate their children and provide healthcare for the family.

Sustainably harvested bamboo has been selected as the material of choice as it is one of the worl’d most renewable resources and is very eco-friendly.  The whole of the plant is used and the coffins are made using minimal energy and the entire coffin is 100% degradable. As these coffins fold down flat, they are also easy to transport and store, reducing the carbon footprint even further.
